Recorded 1988-90 by Electric Romeo alias Toxh. With H.Mengel on 'Bleeding Tampon' (who can also be heard on 'SMC: Another Domestic Drama'). 'The Matter Of Fact-Room' is the same version as on 'Zoo', 'Pillow & Flowers' also appears on the 'Treat The Gods' - compilation as 'Cheezy Birth'. Click here for an enclosed info sheet!

Recorded 09/90-11/90. The so-called 'Vorab Tape' for 'Ohnmacht' with lots of differences to the later official album release: new titles for 'Europe' (= 'Europe Lies Dormant'), 'Wasted' (= 'Wasted Time'), 'Bluter' (= 'Le Petit Hemophile`), 'Fingered' (= 'Female'), 'Nuclear' (= 'Contamination'), 'Push Me' (= 'Scared'), 'Leuchter' (= 'A.C.Leuchter'), 'Human Being' (= 'Scared (remix)'). 'Das Brubaker Syndrom' is way shorter here and has missing rhythm sequences. 'Wrapped In Plastic' is a totally different and almost 9min version of the later officially released track. Unreleased tracks: 'Elefantenmensch' (includes (like 'Scared') vocal samples from Lynch's 'The Elephant Man'), 'Esther' and 'There's Something Out There'. Some tracks have missing or added intros / outros in comparison to 'Ohnmacht'.
A01 A.C.Leuchter (same version as on 'Ohnmacht')
A02 Love (few seconds shorter version (missing intro) than on 'Code Opera')
A03 Learn To Be Cruel (unreleased elsewhere)
One-sided disc, B-side is empty. There is an unconfirmed amount of 250 copies, and there are at least three different versions of the stickers on the sleeve (maybe more: all the three copies I saw are different). Click here for a bigger picture.

Recorded 10/90-11/90 (mainly). 'Le Petit Hemophile' also appears on 'Zoo' (entitled as 'Der kleine Bluter'). 'Wrapped In Plastic' contains a vocal sample from David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks'. Click here for the promotional info sheet.
A01 Controlled Transmission (same version as on 'Code Opera')
B01 Nothing Can't Go Wrong (in my opinion the same version as on 'Code Opera')
01 That Type Of Material 02 Moral Code 03 Totally Removed 04 Controlled Transmission 05 Jesus Loves You 06 Nothing Can't Go Wrong (remix) 07 Technism 08 Fertile Sterile 09 Love 10 Where It Hurts The Most 11 Clinical 12 Highly Emotional State 13 Media Dinner 14 Serious, Really Serious 15 Measure Of Success 16 Code Opera 17 Paradise Of Torture 18 Pain 19 Memories
Tracks 4, 17, 18 and 19 are not included on the vinyl release. The tracklist indicates a remix of 'Nothing Can't Go Wrong' but I cannot find out any difference to the original version on the 'Controlled Transmission' EP (maybe it's just a very slight new mixing). On 'Jesus Loves You' you can hear an excerpt of 'In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)' as to be heard in (once again) David Lynch's 'Eraserhead' - there is always something to be discovered in an SMC track! Click here for the promotional info sheet.

'Rather disturbing release' (John Peel). Recorded 92/93. Two different artworks but same tracks and versions on both releases. Participants: Oliver Braun (as Ö'lee), Erik W., Romeo Fahl (former member of Excursions et Visites) and H.Mengel on saxophone (17,22,23) who also played sax on 'Electric Romeo'. '10.6.5.' is based on a guitar sample by Slayer ('Angel Of Death') which is also used by KMFDM for 'Godlike', 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder' is based on the theme of 'The Streets of San Francisco'. I'd suppose that 'A.C. Leuchter' is inspired by an episode of 'Faces Of Death', if you've seen it: you know what I mean (but I might be wrong of course). 'Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland' contains elements of Paul Celan's 'Todesfuge', and 'Panavision' includes the theme music of the SciFi-B-movie 'When Worlds Collide'. Click here for some more pictures (promotional release, info sheets, commercial ad). 'Lessons Of Survival Part 2' is entitled as 'Afraid For Kids' on the promotional pre-release.

Klaus Kinski, Madonna, W.S.Burroughs and many more can be heard on this record. Additional personnel: Oliver Braun (the man behind 'Beige'), Romeo Fahl, Thomas Luckmann and many others. 'Real Thing' is based on a guitar sample by Metallica ('Through The Never'). Check this site for more information about 'An der Front ist es verboten...'.

04 Future Shock (unreleased elsewhere)
On 'Future Shock' you can hear the voice of Brian Yuzna, the director of such movie classics like 'Bride Of Re-Animator' and 'Return Of The Living Dead 3'. 'Delia' features the voice of Delia Torres. This is the last SMC release up to now.

Recorded 92/93. Collaborators: Judith Ruzicka, Tim Mathieson, Stefan Abt, Andrew Lagowski (look here) and Maerz / Animatrix (Romeo Fahl) for the samples. The WIGWAM is the original release, the Ninja Tune the re-release (some databases say that the Ninja Tune release includes 'Party In The Woods Part 4' - this is a mistake!).
A1 Age Of Affordable Retina A2 Hinterland, Kassler Kessel A3 Down At Heels B1 Hoax! What Did You Get? B2 Steel Lung, Buy One B3 Nuzzling C1 Wonderland C2 Squirrel C3 Marathon/Texas D1 Party In The Woods Part 4
Same tracks and versions as to be found on the CD edition but with a bonus track: 'Party In The Woods Part 4' (as to be found on the 'Party In The Woods' EP). The bonus track is NOT included on the 'Ninja Tune CD release'. Picture sleeve and promo sleeve available.
A01 Party In The Woods Part 1 (can also be found on the 'Trancemitter' compilation)
A02 Party In The Woods Part 2 (can also be found on the 'Trancemitter' compilation)
A03 Party In The Woods Part 3 (can also be found on the 'Trancemitter' compilation)
B01 Party In The Woods Part 4 (can also be found on the vinyl release of 'The Final Corporate Colonization...')
Recorded 93. Strange: on the sleeve you can read 'Ninja Tune' but on the label you will find 'Ninja Tone' (which becomes 'Ntone' some weeks later). Picture right shows the promotional white label release.
A01 Once While Busy Counting Virtues Part 1
B01-03 Untitled
Recorded 94 and 92. Some explanation about this. First: this is absolutely non-official, a bootleg, more probably a private fan pressing in a limited edition of 9 (nine!). Side A is the first part of the otherwise unreleased Peel Sessions from 94 (official BBC information here, the second part is still in the vaults and unavailable. The 3 tracks on side B are unreleased recordings from 92, you might know them as '3 Versuche' circulating in the net. I'm not 100% sure whether these are authentic Drome recordings (probably yes) or fake. I know it looks like I am the maker of this but a can assure you I'm NOT! Bigger pictures here.
01 Moon On My Screen 02 Dromed 03 Hypho Bannk 04 Unidrome HiFi 05 Gudrun 06 Retro Dub 07 Eurotunnel 08 Electrick
Was meant to be released on the incoming! - label (picture right shows the demo tape which contains the same tracks and versions as the official CD). Vocals by Ena and Close, includes sample from DJ Food. Oliver Braun (Beige) and Romeo Fahl are participated, too. 'Unidrome HiFi' is a shorter version of 'Unidromed - Unitone Theme' as to be found on Unitone HiFi's 'Rewound + Rerubbed'. This is the last Drome release.
A01 Unireverse (same version as to be found on NUF: 's/t' but last 2sec cut off)
A02 Holding Hands (same version as to be found on NUF: 's/t' but 13 sec shorter (fade out))
B01 Put It In Here Jungle (same version as on the 'Trancemitter' compilation)
B02 Mouth Shut (same version as on the 'Trancemitter' compilation but different (longer) from the version on NUF: 's/t')
Together with Frank Hernandez. Probably a mistake on the label: 'Non Place Urban Field'. The indicated track time for 'Holding Hands' (5:36) is wrong, in fact it's just 4:30. The label says: 'recorded 93' but both tracks on side A can also be found on the Tox Uthat compilation (in the same versions) which was released 92. Beside Friedmann / Hernandez you can also find 'Rothschild' in the credits - because of the female vocals I'd suppose this is Judith Ruzicka, but I might be wrong of course.

Recorded 92/93 together with Hernandez. In some 'encyclopedias' (and e.g. in the booklet of Flanger's 'Midnight Sound') this album is called 'Nuzzling' which is wrong of course - 'Nuzzling' is a DROME track on 'The Final Corporate Colonization Of The Unconscious'.'

01 Whimp 02 Not Enuf (CD only) 03 Nike Air 04 Nöthel 05 Westernized Dub 06 Xylo 78 07 Not Enuf (remix)
'Not Enuf' is missing on the vinyl release. On Mesmer Variations there is a track by Gescom ('Tony LeMesmer') which sounds pretty similar to 'Whimp'.

'Golden Star' is missing on the vinyl release. A longer version of 'Autoerotik ('Nike Air' 8m2 Stereo remix)' can be found on 8m2 stereo's 'Dr.Music/Autoerotik'. The remix by Pluramon (track 12) is a remix of a track by Muslimgauze (on 'Occupied Territories') which had been remixed by Burnt Friedman (got it?)- so this is a remix of a remix. There is a promotional release of this album (without being indicated as such) with a little different artwork - click here for pictures and find the cock!
CD1: "Golden Star" (same tracks as to be found on the original version)
CD2: "Raum für Notizen" (same tracks as to be found on the original version)
Re-release of the two previous albums as a 2CD set. This is the last NUF release (but not the last NUF album!).

The drama, act 1. This is an album demo for the incoming! - label but unreleased up to now due to the label's end (bigger picture here). It's the first known version of the finally released BURNT FRIEDMAN: Plays Love Songs 4 years later but this demo version has not much in common with the official (re-) release. In details: A01 is a shorter version of the track on 'Process' and has some rhythm and vocal overdubs (e.g. you can hear 'Flug' in between). A02 is very different from the version on 'Just Landed'. A03 and A09 are unreleased tracks. A04 is surprisingly shorter than on 'Another Domestic Drama' and not the later released remix version. A05 is an early version of 'Riddiculation Riddim' (on 'Do Not Legalize It!'). A remix of A06 can be found here but it's not the big difference. A07 is an early version of 'I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm' (pretty similar), A08 is a very different version of 'Sex Working Class' and A10 is a much longer but similar version of 'Body Language'. Basically the officially released versions of some of these tracks are more reduced to the core, these early versions contain more details and overdubs.
01 It Hurts! 02 I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm 03 A Tougher Nut For The Sermonizer 04 I Go With You Huu 05 Octrahedal Spherical Caffufle 06 Siamese Dilemma 07 Rozanova's Ozonizer 08 When The Fat Lady Danced 09 Servo-Session 10 Henry Says 'Sex Is Not Right' 11 Nuf Neck Emotion Stretch 12 Nutcase
The drama, act 2. Also the second try to release this album didn't work because of financial problems of DOT. Although there is absolutely no release in any form a vinyl testpressing appeared in 2009 (bigger picture here) which seems to be not an authentic DOT release but a private fan pressing (like the 'Drome Peel Session') in a very limited edition (the first 2 tracks are missing on this vinyl) - nevertheless (or just because of that) a unique addition to your collection (and as the Drome Peel Session I am not the maker of this!). In comparison to the 1st demo tape there are some changes: track 10 is a remix of the version on 'Another Domestic Drama', tracks 3 and 12 (probably the soundtrack for the shortfilm 'A Tougher Nut') are unreleased elsewhere. 'When the Fat Lady Danced' is a very different version of 'Fuck Urself' (but pretty similar to the later 'Sex Working Class'), 'Servo-Session' is a little different version of the later called 'President Calling'. 'Nuf Neck Emotion Stretch' was re-released as 'Language Of Love' (with some tiny changes) and 'Rozanova's Ozonizer' transformed to 'Fucking Long Time'. Most of the tracks have little differences in details (e.g. vocal samples), mainly in mixing / editing and in intros and outros in comparison to other releases.
01 It Hurts! 02 I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm 03 I Go With You 04 Fucking Long Time 05 Sex Is Not Right! 06 Roll Over Ehrenfeld 07 President Calling 08 Language Of Love 09 Sex Working Class 10 Siamese 11 Octrahedal Spherical Caffufle 12 Bonus
The drama, act 3. Actually this album exists but it was never officially released though still to be found e.g. at amazon. After several announcements it was released 2001 on NONPLACE as Burnt Friedman's 'Plays Love Songs' (other planned titles of this record were (apart from the two unreleased demos above) 'Frontier Planet Lounge' and 'Fucking Long Time'). During that time some tracks changed more or less, got new titles or had been dropped completely from the tracklist, others were added. In details: tracks 2,3,4,6,9,11 include some kind of 'outros' which had been cut away on later versions. 'President Calling' is a little different version of 'Servo-Session', the untitled bonus track is unreleased elsewhere. 'Language Of Love' is 'Body Language' and 'Siamese' is 'Conjoined' on the 'updated' version. 'Octrahedal Spherical Caffufle' is totally different from the version on Con Ritmo but is (apart from intro/outro) identical with 'Planquadratschick' (on e.g. Nonplace EP2), 'Sex Is Not Right' is almost the same remix version as on 'I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm'. 'Plays Love Songs' was close to a release, a very small (unknown) amount of copies was made.
01 Erholungsbebiete / Leisure Zones
Recorded 88, 90 and 95. New mix / edit for this CD re-release of the Toxh.-tape 'Erholungsgebiete' together with Tim Mathieson and Stefan Abt. This re-release is more radical than the original tape, it does not contain any music (in a common sense), only sounds and noises. There are two artworks for this CD (the yellow one in german, the black one in english) but don't be fooled: it's just the way you fold the booklet - there is only one edition of this CD.

Recorded 94/95. Not a Burnt Friedman album, only "programming assistance" by him, so it should be mentioned here. Andrew Lagowski is also known as Nagamatzu, Lustmord, S.E.T.I., Terror Against Terror, Legion and Isolrubin B.K., and he was part of Drome's 'The Final Corporate Colonization Of The Unconscious'.

Also known as 'Liberal Bullshit'. An earlier version of 'Riddiculation Riddim' can be found here. Click here for the promotional info sheet.

Recorded 97-99. 'The Big Black Other' is missing on the vinyl release and not mentioned on the CD's tracklist (but included on the CD). An earlier version of 'Cassock Attack' can be found here. The NU DUB PLAYERS are: Bernie The Bolt, DJ Booth, Cousin Of The Sausage Smearer & Crucial Guenther. Or is it just Burnt Friedman, all alone? It's your decision. The CD-only re-release (2007) with bonus tracks (and correct track list) can be ordered via scape.

Joseph Suchy plays on A2 and B1. 'Planquadratschick' is a re-release of the early 'Octrahedal Spherical Caffufle' (to be found e.g. on NUF's Plays Love Songs'). Click here for a picture of the promotional info sheet.
01 Los Corraleros 02 Demolition Derby 03 Octrahedal Spherical Caffufle 04 Platin Tundra 05 Escape The Night 06 Destination Unknown 07 Das Wesen aus der Milchstrasse 08 Gondel

Though it sounds like a live album everything is straight from the studio. 'Octrahedal Spherical Caffufle' is a totally new version (the original version can be found on NUF's 'Plays Love Songs'). Re-released 2009 as NON 26.

Recorded 96-00 featuring Theo Altenberg, Marcus Jaan, Johanna Hjorth, Black Sifichi and Joseph Suchy. Most of the material on this album was already finished in 97. This was one reason why Burnt started his own label: after a 'fucking long time' of waiting for a release this CD finally saw the light on NONPLACE with some changes and a new artwork (more details here). On 'Fucking Long Time' you can hear the rubberbox: this is a selfmade rubberband 'guitar' Burnt used to play in the time of Excursions Et Visites. The bonus track at the end is a little different version of 'Lovem Intro' (to be found on the Nonplace DVD) and contains some lyrical excerpts of Supermax' 'Lovemachine' (just in case you asked yourself what 'Lovem' means).
01 Rhein rauf 02 Rechter Winkel 03 Royal Roost 04 Shades Of Soddin Orion 05 Rasta Fahndung 06 Gulli verreisen 07 Wirklich (CD only) 08 Obscured By 5 09 Obscured By 5 (Nonplace remix) 10 Obscured By 5 (extended) (CD only)
Recorded 05/01-09/01 featuring drumming legend Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Morten Grønvad and Joseph Suchy. 'Rhein rauf' is also included on the Bonus Audio CD of the Can DVD Box (2003, SpoonDVD47, 2xDVD+CD), same version. 'Obscured By 5 (extended)' and 'Wirklich' are not included on the vinyl release (meanwhile 'Wirklich' has been released on the vinyl version of Secret Rhythms 2). Little mistake (or a joke?): on the CD sleeve the sticker says NON10, on the vinyl sleeve the sticker says NON11 - actually they are both NON9! NON10 is the Domenico de Clario record, NON11 is the 'Fuck Back' EP. Interview here (in german).

An early version of 'Dublab Alert' is available on the 'D-Fuse vs Nonplace DVD' (there entitled as 'Alerted'). 'Five Star Group Travel' has been recorded together with South African's Benguela, a little different and longer version can be found on Benguela's 'Sui', there indicated as 'Southern Right Dub Mix'. 'Consider A Bigger Wallet' is not included on the vinyl edition (which is just a little longer instrumental version of 'Fly Your Kite'). B02 182/9 (different version of 'The Day Earth Stole Heaven' (to be found on 'Snow Borne Sorrow') and of 'Sikkerhed' (on 'Secret Rhythms 2'))
Featuring David Sylvian, Tim Motzer, Hayden Chisholm, Daniel Schröter and Morten Grønvad. Was meant to be entitled as "Auf und davon", you still can find it in some lists with this title. In the 80s David Sylvian made some records together with Jaki Liebezeit and Holger Czukay (who is like Jaki Liebezeit a former member of Can).
01 Wonderful World 02 Darkest Birds 03 Banality Of Evil 04 Atom & Cell 05 History Of Holes 06 Snow Borne Sorrow 07 The Day The Earth Stole Heaven 08 Serotonin 09 The Librarian
The next step after 'Out In The Sticks': David Sylvian, Steve Jansen and Burnt Friedman. Guests: Keith Lowe, Stina Nordenstam, Arve Henriksen, Neil Sutherland, Riff Pike III, Morten Grønvad, Tim Motzer, Joseph Suchy, Carsten Skøv, Hayden Chisholm, Thomas Hass, Theo Travis, Marcina Arnold, Eska G.Mtungwazi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tommy Blaize, Derek Green, Beverlei Brown, Andrea Grant, Tim Elsenburg (quite a lot). 'The Librarian' is a new version, and 'The Day The Earth Stole Heaven' is an update of '182/9' (both originally on 'Out In The Sticks' - further cultivations on 'Secret Rhythms 2'). Visit the site to find out more! The japanese release contains 'Birds Sing For Their Lives' as a bonus track with the lovely voice of Stina Nordenstam (also included on 'Money For All'). The promotional CD-R contains the same material as the regular release.
01 Sikkerhed 02 The Sticks 03 The Librarian (CD: vocal version / LP: instrumental version) 04 Mikrokasper 05 Niedrige Decken 06 Broken Wind Repair Kit 07 Fearer 08 Caracoles (CD only) 08 Wirklich (LP only)
Recorded 2002-2005 feat. David Sylvian, Joseph Suchy, Tim Sutton, Tim Motzer, Hayden Chisholm, Daniel Schröter and Morten Grønvad. 'Sikkerhed' is an update of '182/9' (from 'Out In The Sticks') and 'The Day The Earth Stole Heaven' (from 'Snow Borne Sorrow'). 'The Sticks' is a different version of 'Out In The Sticks' (from 'Out In The Sticks'), and 'The Librarian' is also a new version (the other 2 versions can be found on 'Out In The Sticks' and 'Snow Borne Sorrow'. 'Caracoles' is a 45 to 33 rpm slow motion version of '5 Live' (from Difficult Easy Listening). About the vinyl release: 'Wirklich' is the track from 'Secret Rhythms 1' which is missing on that LP (but included on the CD version) and 'The Librarian' is not only instrumental but a little different and shorter, too (which means this is already the forth version of this track). Moreover the 1min intro of 'Sikkerhead' can only be heard on the CD, not on the LP.
01 Wonderful World (same as on 'Snow Borne Sorrow')
02 The Banality Of Evil (same as on 'Snow Borne Sorrow')
03 When Monday Comes Around (unreleased elsewhere)
04 Wonderful World (radio edit)
Unfortunatelly there's no new BF material on this EP - nevertheless an essential addition to the album!
01 Get Things Straight 02 Designer Groove 03 Five Star Group Travel 04 Destination Unknown 05 Revivitator (Tongs Of Love) (CD only) 06 Escape The Night 07 Life Is Worth Dying For 08 It Ain't Rocket Science 09 Bosco's Disposable Driver 10 Nightbeat (CD only)
Contains re-recordings of some classics feat. Hayden Chisholm, Nils Wogram, Jochen Rueckert and Matt Penman with Burnt Friedman, Black Sifichi, Norbert Krämer, Claudio Ortuzar, Ernesto Artunez and Joseph Suchy. Remarkable: all tracks have the same length of 5.00min. More in the nonplace homebase!
01 Money For All 02 Get The Hell Out 03 Banality Of Evil (Burnt Friedman remix) 04 Wonderful World (Burnt Friedman remix) 05 Birds Sing For Their Lives 06 Serotonin (Burnt Friedman remix) 07 Money For All (version) 08 Get The Hell Out (Burnt Friedman remix)
Recorded 2002-2006. 2 new tracks and 5 remixes (4 by Burnt Friedman) plus 'Birds Sing For Their Lives', the bonus track from the japanese edition of 'Snow Borne Sorrow'. 'Atom Heart' Uwe Schmidt can be heard on the 'drum programming intro' of 'Money For All' with a length of 11sec which you can consider (if you like) as a kind of change for the 18sec participation of Burnt Friedman on Senor Coconut's 'Yellow Fever!' - album.
01 Where Should I Go (featuring Steve Spacek) 02 Machine In The Ghost (featuring Barbara Panther) 03 Walk With Me (featuring Steve Spacek) 04 Need Is All You Love (featuring Theo Altenberg) 05 First Night Forever (featuring Daniel Dodd-Ellis) 06 Healer (featuring Theo Altenberg) 07 Western Smoke (featuring Enik) 08 Thumb Second (featuring Enik) 09 Chaos Breeds 1 10 Chaos Breeds 2 (featuring Dodd-Ellis,Panther,Altenberg)
Recorded 2001-2007 feat. Mandjao Fati, Joseph Suchy, Hayden Chisholm, Claudio Bohorquez, Alexander Meyen, Jochen Rueckert, Richard Pike, Adulis Ghebru, Sascha Cohn, Don Abi, Daniel Schroeter, Tim Motzer plus some vocalists (see tracklist). Jaki Liebezeit? Day off. Same tracks on CD and LP. For more information and sound samples click here. (A joke? If you're wondering about the strange logo on the sticker: it's the logo of 'Electric Romeo', a very early BF project).

Recorded January - May 2007. Actually not a Burnt Friedman album - but he participated so it's in here. The Embassadors were founded by Hayden Chisholm feat. Claudio Bohorquez, Gareth Lubbe, Michel Ongaru, Matt Penman, Jochen Rueckert and Nils Wogram. Guests: Burnt Friedman (drum programming, mixing & producing), Marcio Doctor and Tim Motzer. No vinyl release this time.

02 5 Live in Nagoya (same as on 'Difficult Easy Listening')

Recorded 2007-2009. The 2nd Embassadors album, not a BF record (but he is 'in'). The Hayden Chisholm project (who also made some solo albums and other collaborations, by the way) with Matt Penman, Jochen Rueckert, Bruno Mueller, Robert Nacken, Burnt Friedman and Claudio Bohórquez. Don't forget this is as usual just a short summary of 'guilty parties' and some basic information, the whole truth and further links into the virtual world (wide web) is located at NONPLACE! Especially in this case you should immediately jump over there for audio / video podcasts!
A 5 128-5 (mixed by Mark Ernestus)

Some of the tracks are a little shorter, 'Quicksilver Loom' from 'Templates' is missing.
A01 Outer Space / Inner Space (shorter version than on 'Outer Space / Inner Space')
A02 Bosco's Disposable Driver (AtomTM's Selfremix) (same version as on the japanese edition of 'Outer Space')
B01 Inner Spacesuit (extended large suit) (same as on the 'Outer Space / Inner Space' CD but longer as the LP version)
AtomTM is Uwe Schmidt. He has so many names... There is no official CD release of this EP, only a Ninja Tune promotional CD-R.
01 Outer Space / Inner Space 02 Galak 03 The Men Who Fell From Earth 04 Inner Spacesuit 05 Le Dernier Combat 06 Unosietecero 07 It Ain't Rocket Science 08 Hirnflug (CD only)
Recorded 01 in Santiago de Chile, Cologne and Copenhagen. Featuring Claudio Ortuzar, Ernesto Artunez, Jorge Gonzales, Toly Ramirez, Argenis Brito, Carsten Skov, Thomas Hass, August Engkilde and last but never least Joseph Suchy. Sometimes this album is also called 'Inner Space / Outer Space'. 'Hirnflug' is missing on the vinyl release (which also has a different track order). The LP contains a shorter version of "Inner Spacesuit" than the CD release. The japanese edition (Beat Records BRC-49) has a bonus track: Bosco's Disposable Driver (AtomTM remix), same version as to be found on 'Inner Spacesuit'. Click here for the promotional release and here for an interview with BF concerning this album and more.

Click here for lot more information and sound samples! The vinyl release includes the same tracks and versions as the CD release, but the japanese version (NON-JP 2 / HEADZ 57) has a bonus track: 'F.L.A.N.G.E.R.'! It contains some liner notes (in japanese) and full lyrics (in english) and the sleeve-artwork is printed not stickered.
01 1st May Festivity 02 Mona At The Beach 03 Viorel's Dream 04 Viorel's Death 05 Train To Europe 06 Smoking Cabin 07 Transit 08 Liverpool Drive 09 Bibliotheque Pascal 10 Nightbeat Remix 11 Viorica's Dream 12 Horn Chord 13 Mall Waming
For now only available as a download, CD release unknown. Actually not a 'real' new Flanger album, most of the tracks are remixes / re-edits of older tracks (only 6,7,12,13 were unreleased so far): '1st May Festivity' is identical with 'Funeral March (remix)' (from 'Nonplace 10th Anniversary Edition'), 2,3,11 are variations of 'Stepping Out Of My Dream' (from 'Nuclear Jazz'), 'Viorel's Death' is a shortcut of 'Music Is Our Secret Code' (from 'Spirituals'), 'Train To Europe' is a shortcut of 'Tiny Tina' (also from 'Spirituals'), 'Liverpool Drive' is an unreleased instrumental version of 'In My Car' (on 'Spirituals', too), 'Bibliotheque Pascal' is a short version of 'Down The River' (on 'Spirituals') and 'Nightbeat Remix' is the same version as 'Root 70 Plays Flanger: Nightbeat (Flanger Remix)' from 'Nonplace 10th Anniversary Edition'. There is also some music (very short instrumentals) in the movie that does not appear on this soundtrack (probably not Flanger but Burnt Friedman stuff: the movie's credits list 'Train Scene', 'Vienna Station' and 'Furniture Hall').
01 Lovem Intro 02 Lovem Rhythm 03 BURNT FRIEDMAN & THE NU DUB PLAYERS: Alerted 04 NUF: Plane Spotting 05 Demolition Derby 06 Das Wesen aus der Milchstrasse 07 PHASE 5: Mothman Skunk 08 NUF: Plastikthai (dancemix) 09 Rechter Winkl 010 Gulli verreisen 11 Wirklich 12 Shades Of Soddin Orion
Japanese DVD (RC 0, NTSC) with some exclusive material (01, 02, 03). Music by Burnt Friedman (except where indicated, 09-12 together with Jaki Liebezeit), visuals by D-Fuse. 'Plastikthai (dancemix)' is just a shorter edit of the version on 'Golden Star'. 'Alerted' is a longer version of 'Dublab Tune' on the 'Dublab Presents: Summer' compilation. 'Lovem Intro' is a longer and little different version of the bonus track on 'Plays Love Songs'. The track by Phase 5 is a remix by Burnt as to be found on PHASE 5: 'Space Bar' (little shorter version on this DVD).
03 BURNT FRIEDMAN: Kalimba (unreleased elsewhere)
BURNT FRIEDMAN & THE NU DUB PLAYERS: Hard Drive Dub (excerpt)
This japanese DVD (RC 0, NTSC) also features tracks by Funkstörung, Scanner, Kid 606 and others. 'Kalimba' is an unreleased recording from '01, the video title is 'Experimenta'.

04 BURNT FRIEDMAN: Stich der Tarantel (unreleased elsewhere)
Videoclip by Anders Weberg & Robert Willim. Musicians on this track: Burnt Friedman, Joseph Suchy, Mandjao Fati, Claudio Borhórquez and Hayden Chisholm. 'Stich der Tarantel' is a (probably earlier) version of 'Chaos Breeds 2' (to be found on 'First Night Forever'). The DVD also contains some spoken words by BF plus a few seconds Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit live.

B5 EXCURSIONS ET VISITES: Mama (unreleased elsewhere)
B6 EXCURSIONS ET VISITES: Jütland Overload (unreleased elsewhere)
Recorded 8/89-9/89 (according to the booklet), a longer version of 'Jütland Overload' can be found on 'Zoo'. Probably the last release of E&V tracks before the Drome / SMC / NUF era started. Click here for a nice picture from the back of the sleeve.
04 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Unireverse (same version as to be found on 'Unireverse')
05 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Holding Hands (same version as to be found on 'Unireverse')
Concerning the NUF tracks the booklet says: 'produced by Armbruster/Eisenreich' which probably means: Friedmann/Hernandez. There is a track by Cosmic Breeze on this compilation which is credited to Rothschild (and May), you can find this name also on 'Unireverse' and on the '50 Years Of Sunshine' compilation - is it Judith Ruzicka?
06 SOME MORE CRIME: 10.6.5. (very little different from the version on 'Another Domestic Drama')
CD2: 06 SOME MORE CRIME: 10.6.5. (same version as on '...To Hypersonic')
Rerelease of 'From Hypnotic... - The Hyperium Compilation Part 1' and '...To Hypersonic - The Hyperium Compilation Part 2' as a limited edition 2CD set.
22 SOME MORE CRIME: Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland (shorter than on 'Another Domestic Drama' (fade out))
CD1: 09 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Pseudogarten (unreleased elsewhere)
CD2: 10 DROME: Bipolar Trip (different from the version on the 'Trancemitter' compilation)
'Pseudogarten' is credited as 'written by Rothschild & Iesenreich' - probably it's Friedmann & Hernandez but it could also be Friedmann & Ruzicka (because of the female vocals) or so. This version of 'Bipolar Trip' has (in comparison to the version on 'Trancemitter') a long intro but a shorter and little different main part (at the end you can hear an excerpt of 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds').
02 SOME MORE CRIME: Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland (same version as on 'Another Domestic Drama')
03 SOME MORE CRIME: The Poor (remix) (unreleased elsewhere) (different from the version on 'Another Domestic Drama')
08 SOME MORE CRIME: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (same version as on 'Another Domestic Drama')
09 SOME MORE CRIME: Rough Cut (same version as on 'Another Domestic Drama')
2 radio shows containing some commentaries by John Peel.
04 SOME MORE CRIME: Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland (master mix) (unreleased elsewhere)
08 SOME MORE CRIME: Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland (same version as on 'Another Domestic Drama')
14 SOME MORE CRIME: Violent Nation (unreleased elsewhere)
CD2: 12 DROME: Party In The Woods Part 2 (same version as on the 'Party In The Woods' EP)
05 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Planet Exercise (unreleased elsewhere)
Indicated as 'Non Place Urban Field'.
01 MAX EASTLEY/DROME: Intro (unreleased elsewhere)
05 DROME: Point D'Eschapee (theme mix) (unreleased elsewhere)
08 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Style Over Substance (rather different (more minimalistic) from the version on NUF: 's/t')
10 DROME: Hollow Hover (unreleased elsewhere)
This compilation (again compiled by Thomas Luckmann) also contains 2 tracks by Wolfram 'Der Spyra'.
03 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Exurb (NeuroDUB) (unreleased elsewhere) (original version can be found on NUF: 's/t')
05 DROME: Machine Killing Parasites (unreleased elsewhere)
08 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Style Over Substance (longer version than on NUF: 's/t' and without the crackling)
10 DROME: Jungle Claus (shorter version (missing intro) than on 'The Final Corporate Remix...')
This CD also includes tracks by Wolfram 'Der Spyra', Tapeworm (O.Braun & F.Hernandez) and Capslock (F.Hernandez).
A5 SOME MORE CRIME: Waving Gun Attack (remix) (unreleased elsewhere)
B3 SOME MORE CRIME: Memories (remix) (same version as on 'Fuzzysets')
Limited edition of 100, included with the Auf Abwegen mag #16. There is no 'real' sleeve for the tape, the artwork is a 7x5 inch card, the tape itself is "wrapped in plastic".
14 SOME MORE CRIME: Love (same version as on 'Code Opera')
03 DROME: Age Of Affordable Retina (little shorter version (excerpt) than on 'The Final Corporate Colonization...')
08 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Mouth Shut (little different version than on 'Unireverse' (additional keyboards and vocal samples))
09 DROME: Party In The Woods Part 4 (shorter version than on the 'Party In The Woods' EP but with additional vocal samples)
This is a DJ mix by Coldcut. The differences to the original version are a result of the continous flow of the tracks so actually there aren't 'new' versions here.
08 DROME: Hypobank remix (little shorter (excerpt) than on 'The Final Corporate Remix...' (vinyl edition))
This is a continous DJ mix by Coldcut.
CD1: 01 DROME: Age Of Affordable Retina (same version as on 'The Final Corporate Colonization...')
CD2: 04 DROME: Hinterland, Kassler Kessel (same version as on the 'The Final Corporate Colonization...')
06 NUF: Chilled #6 (same version as on 'Nuf Said')
03 SOME MORE CRIME: Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland (probably same version as on 'Another Domestic Drama')
13 SOME MORE CRIME: Real Thing (same version as on 'Fuzzysets')
This compilation is a limited edition free insert that came with 'Music From The Empty Quarter' mag (issue 12).
03 SOME MORE CRIME: Rehanimation (same version as to be found on 'Fuzzysets')
CD2: 06 DROME: 5 95 91 1 (unreleased elsewhere)
The booklet says: 'taken from the upcoming album 'Mesmer''. Indeed it sounds a little similar to 'Mesmerized' as to be found on the 'Mesmer Variations' compilation but it's about 2min longer, without the vocal samples and with additional (and missing) keyboard parts - in other words: rather different version.
CD1: 05 DROME: Mesmerized (unreleased elsewhere except on the 'Touch.sampler' compilation)
Nice edition, large-sized (6x6") cardboard sleeve with 7 cards in it. By the way: there is a track by Gescom (which is an Autechre sideproject) on this compilation which sounds a little like NUF's 'Whimp' on 'Raum für Notizen' - maybe Burnt was inspired by this track.
11 DROME: Mesmerized (unreleased elsewhere except on the 'Mesmer Variations' compilation)
13 SOME MORE CRIME: Love (few seconds shorter than on 'Code Opera' (missing intro))
10 SOME MORE CRIME: Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland (same version as on 'Another Domestic Drama')
01 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Jetzt dommt wax (different from the version on 'Better Life For The Casual Listener')
Originally entitled as 'Jetzt kommt was' which makes a little more sense.
01 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Nuf Luf remix (same version as on the 'Electronic Species' compilation) (original version on 'Nuf Said')
06 SOME MORE CRIME: Rendering Hot Dogs (unreleased elsewhere)
One more time: Some More Crime. This is the last proof of life of SMC, a shorter version of this track can be found on the 'The Sound Of Cologne Zwei' compilation as a NUF track. An enclosed info sheet announces a new SMC release - I'm still waiting...
09 NUF: Gamma Disco Dub (same version as on 'Nuf Said')
10 NUF: Stupid Little Automatic Servants (same version as on 'Nuf Said')
Swedish compilation in cardboard sleeve.
09 DROME: Moon On My Screen (same version as to be found on 'Dromed')
Artifice appears to have been a short-lived British arts magazine of the mid-90s. Mixing a 120-page colour book with a CD/CD-ROM containing music, short films and assorted files like experimental fonts, all in a nifty transparent plastic clamshell, it ran for only a short while – indeed, this may have been its last issue.
A2 DROME: Moon On My Screen (dub version) (same version as to be found on the 'Electronic Species' compilation)
Free with the 'What's That Noise' magazine.
05 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Nuf Luf rmx (same version as on the 'Incoming! Promo CD1' compilation)
08 DROME: Moon On My Screen rmx (same version as the 'Dub Version' on 'The Fall vs Drome vs Autechre')
01 SOME MORE CRIME: Josefs Körper (same version as on 'Fuzzy Sets')
04 SOME MORE CRIME: An der Front ist es verboten... (same version as on 'Fuzzy Sets')
14 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Pan.13 (O.Braun remix) (same version as on 'Golden Star')
This CD is part of the 'Surfing Systems / Die Gunst der 90er - Positionen zeitgenössischer Art' catalogue for an exposition in Kassel. Also included: a big CD ROM with pictures and lots of information. Other featured artists on the CD are Oliver Braun (a.k.a. Beige) and Markus Baude. Unfortunatelly there is no information about the complete tracklist of the CD so if you know more: please contact me!
05 DROME: Moon On My Screen (same version as on 'Dromed')
CD1: 11 DROME: Hypho Bannk (same version as on 'Dromed')
09 DROME: Hypho Bannk (same version as on 'Dromed')
05 DROME: H-Fanatic (unreleased elsewhere)
B1 DROME: H-Fanatic (same version as on the CD edition)
This is a compilation of 3.1 and 4.1.
16 NUF: Stupid Little Automatic Servants (same version as on 'Nuf Said')
Spanish compilation. Thanx Chris for sending it!
04 DROME: Cheezy Birth (re-release of 'Pillow & Flowers' as to be found on 'Electric Romeo')
Recorded 88.
09 BERND FRIEDMANN: Waves (unreleased elsewhere)
09 DROME: Eurotunnel (shorter version than on 'Dromed')
13 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Put It In Here Jungle (little shorter version than on the 'Unireverse' EP)
'Waves' is a 10sec jingle for Viva. This jingle can also be heard on this CD at the beginning of the first track (by Reality Brothers) - same version. More information about this compilation and all the other 'For Films' - editions here.
08 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Unireverse (same version as on NUF: 's/t')
11 SOME MORE CRIME: Delia (same version as on 'Fuzzymix')
You can download the whole album here. In this case it's not illegal - emusic pays money to the concerning artists!
07 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Unireverse (same version as on NUF 's/t')
05 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Local Spasm (unreleased elsewhere)
05 NUF: Roll Over Ehrenfeld (longer than on NUF's 'Plays Love Songs' but same as on the 'Re-Inventing Culture' compilation)
Featuring Sascha Brsma on guitar, sounds very similar to Drome's 'Flüssigholz' as to be found on the 'Freestyle Files 2' compilation. This CD was compiled and 'crossfaded' by Burnt Friedman.
CD1: 11 DROME: Flüssigholz (unreleased elsewhere)
Sounds very similar to NUF's 'Roll Over Ehrenfeld' as to be found e.g. on the 'Deutscher Funk' compilation.
CD3: 11 DROME: Flüssigholz (same as above)
Best of Freestyle Files compilation as a box set.
CD1: 21 DROME: Alice Effect (Coldcut vocal version) (different from the version on 'The Final Corporate Remix...')
Basically not that different from the original version, just some vocal lines at the beginning of the track. This is a continous DJ mix by Coldcut,DJ Food (CD1) and DJ Krush (CD2).
21 DROME: Alice Effect (Coldcut vocal version) (same version as on the double CD edition)
Japanese single CD edition (identical with CD1 of the double CD edition). There is also a limited edition release of the Ninja Tune double CD set (ZEN CD26 LTD) in a cardboard sleeve with this artwork.
04 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Beachside FX (unreleased elsewhere)
Credited as 'washed by Burned Friedmann with Mirelle Mirage'. This track contains elements of Drome's 'Alice Effect' (on 'The Final Corporate Remix...').
09 BERND FRIEDMANN: Flug (unreleased elsewhere)
16 NONPLACE URBAN FIELD: Vinyl 1:1 (same version as to be found on 'Golden Star')
Continous mix. 'Flug' is the theme music for a german TV computer magazine ('Click'), just a few seconds long. From the booklet: ''The jingles and trailers he has produced since 1995 include the 'VIVA Wecker' program, all VIVA 2 programs up until summer of 1996, the 'Disney News' program on SUPER RTL ... and the soundtrack to 'John E.Loskot - The Lost Hero'.'' He also made jingles for Pro7, Opel and Mercedes-Benz. Too bad that none of these tunes found a release somewhere (except 'Flug' on this CD and 'Waves' on 'For Films Edit.1')! 10 BURNT FRIEDMAN & THE NU DUB PLAYERS: Hard Drive Dub (same version as on the 'Do Not Legalize It!' EP)
08 BURNT FRIEDMAN & THE NU DUB PLAYERS: It's Thunder (same version as on 'Just Landed')
Wrong track information on the sleeve: instead of the indicated 'Dub To The Music' there is 'It's Thunder' on this CD. The mistake's origin: according to the booklet of 'Just Landed' track 9 is 'Dub to The Music' - actually track 9 is 'It's Thunder' ('Dub To The Music' is track 10), and this mistake is because 'The Big Black Other' is missing on 'Just Landed's' tracklist. Quite confusing.

CD3: 19 BURNT FRIEDMAN AND THE NU DUB PLAYERS: Worldwide Watchdog Peepshow (same as on 'Ninja Cuts 3: FunKungFusion')
B2: 19 FLANGER: PsySound (unreleased elsewhere)
This is pretty hard: this EP was not for general sale but FREE for purchasers of the Ninja Tune XX box set. Every box set had a unique code which had to be sent to Ninja Tune. After that they delivered 2 free EPs (this one plus another one). Sounds nice, the problem is: the (pretty expensive) box set is sold out, all codes are obsolete, so if you buy a used box set, the code will not work. Plus: the Flanger track will not appear on any record in the future, it was exclusive to this box. Lucky owners. More about this release here.

CD1: 08 ROUPE: Somnambulism (remixed by NUF) (entitled as NUF: 'Fryedism')
CD2: 01 SPACER: Endlesspaceism (remix of NUF's 'Fryedism')
The idea behind this compilation is that each artist here remixes the track of the previous artist and so on. So in fact NUF's 'Fryedism' is not a new track but 'just' a remix (with a very nice intro). Therefore Spacer's 'Endlesspaceism' is a remix of NUF's 'Fryedism'.
A2 I Fly With You (NUF cockpit mix)

Theo Altenberg (with his own project Das Es) used NUF tracks (and tracks by Kreidler, Susanne Brokesch and Hans Platzgummer) to create his own cup of tea (he slowed down the speed and added his voice 'directly transmitted from brain to recording system'). His own recordings on this CD-R (no official release) are from 97 - I suppose.
